Ye performs a clean set for 34,000 fans at Portugal’s Algarve Stadium, defying international pressure and diplomatic calls for the concert’s cancellation.
Ye pulled off what seemed impossible in Portugal on Friday night, performing in front of 34,000 fans at Estádio do Algarve despite mounting international pressure to cancel the show.
The concert marked a rare victory for the rapper’s controversial “Bully” tour, which has faced cancellations across Europe and visa denials in multiple countries.
According to Euronews, the Algarve performance went smoothly, with Ye delivering tracks like “Stronger,” “Gold Digger,” and “American Boy” while standing atop the famous giant globe on the stadium pitch.
The concert also featured a special moment when Ye invited his daughter, North West, on stage for a duet, giving fans a rare glimpse of a family collaboration.

The Israeli ambassador to Portugal, Oren Rozenblat, had publicly called for the concert’s cancellation just days before, citing Ye’s history of antisemitic statements and declarations of support for Nazism.
Rozenblat’s video message condemned what he characterized as hate speech rather than provocation, pointing to the rapper’s past comments glorifying Hitler and claiming slavery was a choice.
Yet Portugal’s government and event organizers stood firm, with the concert’s promoter dismissing the controversy as “misinformation” and arguing there was no legitimate security threat to public order.
Ye’s international tour has become a masterclass in controversy management, with shows canceled in the UK, France, Poland, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
The rapper attempted damage control by publishing a full-page apology in the Wall Street Journal, describing his past behavior as stemming from “a four-month manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior” and claiming he “lost touch with reality.”
The performance came as part of the ongoing promotion of his 12th studio album, Bully, which has been overshadowed by the legal and reputational challenges surrounding the artist.
The rapper’s next scheduled appearance is in Kazakhstan at the Central Stadium in Almaty on August 14, followed by performances in New Orleans on August 28 and Chicago on September 3, 2026.
