Kurupt just revealed something that shows the real brotherhood running through Hip-Hop when it matters most.

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Sway in the Morning, the West Coast legend opened up about a battle with alcohol addiction that nearly cost him everything, including his life.

Multiple seizures sent him into a three-week coma, and when he came out the other side, he wasn’t alone.

“It was Dr. Dre that called and was just giving his support and just let me know that, you know, we all go through these things,” Kurupt explained.

The legendary producer offered guidance and real talk, but it was Eminem who moved into action mode.

Eminem stepped in with more than just words.

“It was Em who came to the table like, ‘I’m gonna put Kurupt with my folks, and I’m going to put some money into getting him into like, a rehab situation to where he can sit down and enjoy himself and be out the way. Nobody will know he’s there,’” Kurupt recalled.

That’s the kind of move that changes everything.

The financial weight of recovery isn’t something people always talk about, but Kurupt made it clear.

“You know, these things cost bread, so Em put the cheese up for it and said, ‘Tell Kurupt I love him,’” he said.

Dr. Dre relayed the message, and then Eminem connected him with his own people to handle the treatment.

“So, you know, that was real special to me. I appreciate both of them so much. And it’s like, damn, you know? He just came out the blue from nowhere. Like, ‘Okay, Kurupt going through that? Bam. Boom. I’ma do that for him, man. Tell Kurupt get well, we love him.’ That’s deep.”

The connection between these two goes back decades.

Eminem put Kurupt’s name in the history books when he shouted him out as one of the best emcees of all time in his 2002 hit “Till I Collapse.”

But this moment showed something deeper than just respect between legends.

Eminem’s been transparent about his own addiction struggles, surviving a near-fatal overdose in 2007 that forced him to confront everything.

He made his 2009 album Relapse while in recovery, and in his 2025 documentary “STANS,” he talked about how he flipped the script on shame.

Kurupt’s now on the other side of that battle, and he’s making sure people know who had his back when it mattered most.
