Ye’s two Tampa concerts in June generated $3.44 million for the sports authority, outpacing comparable shows from major artists.
Ye pulled in massive revenue for Tampa’s sports authority with back-to-back June concerts, generating $3.44 million in total earnings.
The two shows at Raymond James Stadium drew over 119,000 people combined, with the first night bringing in more than 63,200 attendees and the second show attracting 56,391 fans.
Every dollar spent on concessions, parking, and merchandise went straight to the Tampa Sports Authority’s bottom line, and the numbers tell the story of a hugely successful event.
The concerts weren’t without controversy, though.

Holocaust survivors, Jewish leaders, and U.S. Senator Rick Scott all pushed back hard against the shows happening at a publicly managed venue.
Scott made his position crystal clear at a press conference, asking, “Why on Earth would we use tax dollars to fund someone who has called himself a Nazi and praised Adolf Hitler?”
The opposition was real and vocal, but the Sports Authority held firm on its position that no taxpayer money actually funded the performances themselves.
The contract protecting Ye’s right to perform included specific language preventing the Sports Authority from canceling based on “artist identity, prior or past public statements, public perception, political viewpoints, or the anticipated or actual content of the performance.”
This clause essentially locked in the shows regardless of the backlash.
According to the financial breakdown, the first night generated over $2 million in profit, while the second pulled in more than $1.37 million.
The financial success of major concert events continues to drive revenue for public venues across the country.
At a board meeting following the shows, Tampa City Council chairperson Alan Clendenin joked about the whole situation, saying, “We had a Kanye West show? I missed that. Didn’t get any phone calls about that.”
His comment reflected the reality that despite all the noise and opposition beforehand, the concerts happened, the money came in, and life moved on.
