Shyne Explains Why He’s Turning Sold-Out Brooklyn Comeback Into a 26-City Tour
Published

Shyne launches his first full North American tour in over a decade, with Barrington Levy and Lil’ Cease in tow.
Shyne sold out Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on May 2, and that homecoming is now turning into a 26-city tour.
The rapper has announced the 2622 LGND Tour, a North American run opening October 21 at the Ogden Theatre in Denver. It closes December 5 in Miami with 13 confirmed stops, and additional dates will follow. Tickets hit the general public on Friday, July 31 at 10 a.m. local time, with presales already underway.
Barrington Levy and Lil’ Cease will appear on nearly every date, and DJ Rampage and Stig Da Artist complete the bill.
Levy’s voice is all over “Bad Boyz” and “Bonnie & Shyne,” the opening and final singles from Shyne’s gold-certified 2000 debut for Bad Boy Records.

That record hit No. 5 on the Billboard 200, and Levy and Shyne haven’t toured together since.
Shyne explained why getting Levy locked in was the first priority after May 2.
“Since I returned to the stage on May 2 at Kings Theatre, I took the time to make sure I got the iconic Barrington Levy to clear his calendar, so people can see one of the most legendary rap and reggae collaborations ever live on stage,” he said. “The celebration of the legacy continues this fall with my brother Lil’ Cease and other surprises along the way.”
Lil’ Cease, a Junior M.A.F.I.A. veteran, brings a second strand of that same Flatbush-Brooklyn energy to the lineup.
The tour builds on the sold-out 25th-anniversary show at Kings Theatre in May.
That night was Shyne’s first headlining performance on American soil in over a decade, staged in Flatbush, the Brooklyn neighborhood he grew up in.
Between that debut and this tour sits an unusual second act. Born Moses Michael Levi Barrow, he returned to Belize and was named Music and Goodwill Ambassador.
He earned a seat in Belize’s House of Representatives in 2020 and held the post of Leader of the Opposition.
He stepped away from office in March 2025, with that arc documented in The Honorable Shyne, the Hulu and Andscape documentary from November 2024.
His second album, Godfather Buried Alive, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in 2004, his second straight Top 5 chart debut.
