Martha Stewart reveals she’s been trying to get Eminem on her show for years, but he keeps turning her down.
Eminem remains the one artist Martha Stewart couldn’t convince to sit down with her, despite years of trying to make it happen.
The 85-year-old lifestyle icon opened up in a recent People magazine interview about her unfulfilled dream of having the Detroit rapper on her show, revealing just how much his music means to her.
“I like rap music. I especially like Eminem, and I could never get Eminem to come on any show. He would not accept any invitation. I still haven’t met him,” Stewart said, making it clear that this isn’t some casual celebrity wish but a genuine connection to his artistry.
What makes the situation even more interesting is how differently things played out with Snoop Dogg.

Stewart invited Snoop to appear on her show back in 2008 specifically because of her love for Hip-Hop and rap culture, and that connection turned into a genuine friendship that lasted decades.
The two went on to co-host “Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” and became actual friends, not just TV partners.
But Eminem? He’s remained the one that got away, the artist who never took the bait no matter how many times she reached out.
Stewart also touched on how her past gave her unexpected credibility in Hip-Hop circles. She served five months in federal prison in 2004 for insider trading, and she’s been open about how that experience changed her perspective on life.
“It gave me street cred,” she explained. “I mean, you would never know what jail was like until you go to jail. It’s a horrible place. It’s not a restorative process.”
That shared experience of incarceration actually helped her bond with Snoop, who also has his own history with the criminal justice system.
The two found common ground in a way that transcended the typical celebrity friendship, and their special bond became something genuinely meaningful.
The contrast between her success with Snoop and her inability to connect with Eminem suggests how differently artists approach celebrity culture and public appearances.
While Snoop embraced the crossover appeal and the chance to build something new with Stewart, Eminem’s consistent refusal to engage suggests he’s simply not interested in that world, regardless of who’s asking.
