50 Cent Expands Starz Empire With “Bone Parish”

50 Cent’s bringing a supernatural crime drama to Starz with Bone Parish, a dark adaptation of Cullen Bunn’s graphic novel about a New Orleans family dealing drugs made from the dead.

50 Cent is bringing supernatural horror to Starz with a new TV adaptation of the graphic novel Bone Parish, and the network’s betting big on this dark crime story.

The series is based on Cullen Bunn’s chilling comic about the Winters family in New Orleans who build their empire around a drug made from the ashes of the dead. It’s the kind of twisted premise that fits perfectly with 50’s track record of producing gritty, high-stakes television.

Diane Ademu-John and Declan de Barra are stepping in as co-showrunners, bringing their experience from Dune: Prophecy and The Witcher: Blood Origin to this project. 50 Cent’s executive producing through his G-Unit Film & Television banner, and BOOM! Studios executives Stephen Christy and Mette Norkjaer are also on board.

This isn’t just another adaptation. It’s a full commitment from everyone involved to bring something genuinely different to the screen.

“I’ve always been drawn to stories that break the mold, and Bone Parish does exactly that,” 50 said in a statement. “It takes crime, family, and power, and mixes it with something dark and supernatural, in a way that feels fresh. Exploring what happens when the world of the living gets mixed up with the world of the dead, this story has incredible depth, and we’re building a series that’s going to keep audiences locked in from the first episode.”

That’s not just hype. That’s a producer who understands what audiences actually want to watch.

According to TheWrap, this project represents Starz’s push to develop more fully owned content.

50’s been building his Starz empire for years now, and Bone Parish fits into a larger strategy of expanding beyond the Power universe.

The network’s also got Fightland premiering July 31, another 50 production that shows his range as a producer.

Deadline reported that Starz won a bidding war to secure the Bone Parish adaptation rights.
