Massive Attack to Headline London’s LIDO Festival With Climate Action Show

Massive Attack have been announced as the latest headliners for LIDO 2025 in London this summer. The show will be their first show in the English capital for nine years.
The British band is scheduled to play a bill-topping set at Victoria Park on June 6. In collaboration with clean energy provider Ecotricity, the performance at LIDO will be entirely powered by battery – significantly reducing both carbon emissions and local air pollution.
They’ll be joined on the day by iconic electronica duo Air. Other support acts include Tirzah and Yasiin Bey and the Alchemist are Forensics, with more to be announced.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am (GMT) this Friday (Feb. 21) via LIDO’s official website. Alternatively, fans can access a pre-sale at the same time on Thursday (Feb. 20) by signing up to the festival’s newsletter.
Massive Attack hosted two large-scale climate action shows last year. The first, as part of environmental project ACT 1.5, took place at Clifton Downs in their hometown of Bristol last August and marked the biggest low-carbon gig the U.K. has seen to date. Three months later, they headlined Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena joined by IDLES and Nile Rodgers & Chic.
Speaking about LIDO and Massive Attack’s continued work with Ecotricity, bandmember Robert Del Naja (3D) writes: “To present London’s first-ever 100% battery powered festival day with a dynamic range of artists is an optimum outcome for us. History shows it’s often the combination of art and science that overcomes the greatest challenges we face.”
He continued: “It’s good to see LIDO take learnings from our ACT1.5 event last year and apply those technologies to where they see emissions coming from. Clean productions beginning this journey to normalisation is good news for everyone, but especially for music fans that come to festivals and the local communities that live around them.”
LIDO will span two weekends in its inaugural year. Other headliners include Charli XCX, who is set to curate her landmark ‘Party Girl’ all-dayer on June 14, as well as London Grammar and Jamie xx. The event will also play host to the new London leg of Outbreak, which will be headlined by Turnstile.
