Rick Ross Declares Himself The “BOAT” After Naming His Goats
Published

During an exclusive conversation with AllHipHop, Rick Ross took the GOAT debate in a new direction after naming his Top Five rappers.
Rick Ross has officially entered himself into Hip-Hop’s never-ending greatest-of-all-time debate, but The Biggest Boss is not calling himself the GOAT.
He has created his own category.
During an exclusive conversation with AllHipHop’s Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur, Ross was asked to name his Top Five rappers, dead or alive – the Goats.” The Miami legend offered a list filled with some of Hip-Hop’s most celebrated figures, including The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, Jay-Z, Scarface and fellow Miami icon Trick Daddy.
“BIG, Tupac Shakur, Shawn (Jay-Z)Carter, Brad Jordan AKA Scarface, Trick Daddy,” Ross said in rapid succession.

When Jigsaw asked where he placed himself among Hip-Hop’s greats, Ross did not hesitate.
“I’m a BOAT,” he declared.
Ross then explained that BOAT stands for “Biggest of All Time.”
“That’s the Ricky Rozay way,” he added.
The statement is vintage Rick Ross. This confident claim is backed by a lengthy catalog that has remained relevant for two decades.
Ross just released Set In Stone, his 12th studio album and the latest chapter in a career that began its commercial ascent with Port of Miami in 2006. He’s also got numerous mixtapes, guest appearances and other creative endeavors like his current tour with a full orchestra.
In the interview, Ross reflected on spending 20 summers in the music business while continuing to release full projects.
“Twenty years in the game, 20 summers,” Ross said. “Here we are dropping the 12th body of work.”
The full AllHipHop interview will explore Ross’ new album Set In Stone, his 20-year run in Hip-Hop, his expanding business empire, the lessons he learned from failure and why he believes artists must be willing to bet on themselves.
Ross also discusses Jay-Z, T.I., Metro Boomin, Jeezy, Don Toliver, BigXthaPlug and Leon Thomas and more.
For now, Rick Ross is clear: there are GOATs, but only one BOAT.
